What size walkie-talkie should you buy for your business

In an office or the middle of a hectic event, you've got enough to juggle without throwing in a big, bulky walkie-talkie. Fortunately, traditional two-way radios come in sizes as small as 5.8" with weights of 4.6 oz and the surprisingly small Retevis RT22 series radios weigh in at a mere 3.99oz and stand 5.35x2.2x0.83in inches That's the catch with the smaller models: reducing antenna and transmitter size requires some compromises in range. If you're working in a medical or dental office, a restaurant, retail store, hotel, on a photo shoot, or catering an event where you don't require a lot of range; small two-way radios offer the perfect solution.   

Two Way Radio Chargers

Quality two-way radios, and  almost two way radios will come packaged with an individual radio desktop charger. Chargers work either as 'trickle' chargers that power up overnight for 12-16 hours or rapid-rate chargers that replenish battery power in 2-3 hours.

Instead, all radios automatically program themselves based on the settings of the master radio. Using multi-unit chargers also means it only takes one wall outlet to charge several radios.

If your two-way radio uses Ni-Cad or NiMh batteries but doesn't offer a rapid discharge function, you may be able to get that in a charging unit instead. Conditioning your battery can save you a lot of money and time  by extending usage life.

The General Mobile Radio Service, or GMRS radios are intended for personal use in general communications. It shares some channels with FRS, but it offers more power, range and versatility than lower power FRS radios. GMRS radios are available in portable handheld models at up to 5 watt and mobile/base station models at up to 50 watts of power. With the frequency range 462`467MHZ.

3, Do I need a License when using GMRS radios?
Yes, An FCC license is required to operate GMRS radios. When you get this license, you can operate the portable, mobile, fixed and repeater GMRS radios. One GMRS license covers the entire family. And you should be 18 years or older to apply for this license.

Amateur radio, also known as ham radio, is the use of radio frequency spectrum for purposes of non-commercial exchange of messages, wireless experimentation, self-training, private recreation, radiosport, contesting, and emergency communication.

The term "amateur" is used to specify "a duly authorised person interested in radioelectric practice with a purely personal aim and without pecuniary interest;" and to differentiate it from commercial broadcasting, public safety , or professional two-way radio services.
Amateur radios require a special amateur license to use but offer some advantages over GMRS radios for certain uses. Amateur radios are used for general communications among hobbyists, are great for emergency use, and the equipment is typically better quality than average GMRS radios.

Family Radio Service (FRS)
The Family Radio Service (FRS) is an improved family walkie talkies. This personal radio service uses channelized frequencies around 462 and 467 MHz in the ultra high frequency (UHF) band. FRS Two-way Radio has also seen significant adoption by business interests, as an unlicensed, low-cost alternative to the business band.
